My 11 year old daughter has been a student of Planko Classical Ballet Academy for the past 6 years. Madam Planko is an exceptional teacher, that takes a personal interest in all her students, her gentle corrections encourage her dancers to try a little harder. I cannot even begin to thank Madam Planko and Ms Diane for creating a safe and positive atmosphere in which my daughter continues to thrive. My Family enjoys watching her ballet recital’s in the warehouse, We can actually see my daughter dance up close rather than at a far distance on a theater stage. Planko Classical Ballet Academy has deservedly won Best Ballet Studio in Novi several years in a row. Madam Planko, thank for your tireless dedication and expertise!.

I have to agree with the other reviewer. The dance instructor (Jamie) picks and chooses her favourites from a young age. If your daughter is not one of the \chosen ones\, you can rest assured that she will receive minimal instruction, be treated poorly as an after-thought, and will receive minimal roles in performances. However, you will still be expected to dole out large monthly fees and encouraged to dole out even more for private lessons. I read the writing on the wall early on and moved my daughter to a studio with more evenly-distributed instruction. She is MUCH happier there and has become a beautiful little dancer. The whole experience is a lot more professional as well. I would probably rate this with zero stars if that were an option. You can see the obvious recruitment of Jamie's minions to come to Google and submit positive 5-star reviews to boost the studio's Google score. Consider yourself warned.

My daughter is so happy at this studio. We wanted to find a studio that provides serious classical training with a focus on technique and precision. I am so pleased with the training she is receiving. She loves participating in performances at the studio as well as the opportunities she has been provided in competing at international competitions. Jamie is such an amazing teacher!

So thankful to have found this studio! Strong technique classes with a continued focus on improvement. Madame Planko is a wonderful and caring instructor! I am also very sad that there is one isolated individual parent obviously trying to sabotage the studio’s reviews (all under multiple aliases). Jamie does not have minions, instead she has a very close knit group of dancers and families who support her. It is unfortunate that sometimes it is not the dancer who is unhappy but the parents who become so competitive. This is not that kind of environment. Be warned - this a nurturing environment where your child’s passion for dance will thrive. Ignore the negative reviews coming from the same unhappy parent!!!

This has to be the worst dance studio in the area. The main instructor plays serious favorites with her students--making sure they get the best instruction, while the others are left wandering around as unwanted stepchildren. This allows her favorites to achieve better success at competitive events. The recitals don't even take place on a real stage or dance venue but rather a warehouse. The owner tasks the parents of the dancers to assemble wood bleachers for the audience. The makeshift bleacher seating does not even allow full view of the performances. It is apparent that the owner takes these measures to maximize her return on very hefty monthly fees. Unless you're a favorite, this place is way over-priced for what you will be receiving for your money. NOT RECOMMENDED--DON'T EVEN CONSIDER IT.
