This place ripped us off for around 1,000. They claimed that our insurance wouldn’t cover the diagnostic procedures, so we had to pay in full. The doctor is lying in his response below. The insurance would have covered all of the testing but he already got our money, so he refused to run it through our insurance. The insurance company then told me that they would have covered these procedures but the doctor’s office didn’t even try processing any claims through the insurance. The insurance company asked to speak with the doctor’s office to help clear this up. I went to the doctor’s office to plead with them to just speak with our insurance company but they just brushed this aside and said that they use a third party billing service, so there is nothing they can do. If the doctor uses a third party billing service that is doing something wrong, you would think that the doctor’s office would try to resolve this. This place knows how to take advantage of people. They also charge full price for ultrasounds and blood tests even though they are fully covered by our insurance at the new IVF doctor that we are seeing. Beware of this office.

About ten years ago, I was faced with infertility issues that no other doctor could help me with. Mick Abae operated on me and I was able to conceive my first son 10 years ago. I now have 5 children and I am so grateful because of the service he was able to provide.

We went to Dr. Abae because he was in our insurance network. We didn't question the receptionist when she told us that our insurance didn't cover the first couple of exams. We started to get suspicious when they kept billing us full price for all of the diagnostic exams. We called our insurance company and they assured us that all diagnostic testing should be 100% covered by insurance. We went to the doctor's office and told them this, but they said that they cant help us look into this because they use a \3rd party billing service\. Kate, the office manager, then told us that a lot of insurance companies lie to the patients by saying that they cover certain procedures, but they'll tell the doctor's office that they wont cover it. I called the insurance company to tell them what she said, and they immediately tried to call Kate to inform her that everything should be covered. Fertility and Genetics refused to even speak with our insurance company regarding this. Our insurance provider then called us back to inform us that what the doctor did was wrong. Their office purposely didn't even try to run any of the procedures through our insurance. We're hoping that we can get a refund for these procedures, but it doesn't look like the doctor is cooperating with the insurance company. I hope they no longer list this doctor as being in-network.
