We purchased the Fireplace X insert in October 2020 and absolutely love it. Dean's installed it within 3 weeks and the install went smoothly. The staff thoroughly explained the efficiencies of the insert when compared to the old unit that it replaced. They were spot on, no smoke, no odor, less ash, window stays clean and it uses much less wood. We are very satisfied with the Fireplace X and yes, it heats the entire house! Great service, knowledgeable staff and a perfect installation!

This is a two-star review because Dean's Stove and Spa eventually completed the job. The work seems good so far. I would have rated this higher if the job did not take three months (92 days) to finish. I paid in full for a vented gas fireplace insert in late October 2020 and it took until late January 2021 to get everything done. The process was plagued by inefficiency, poor communication, and four visits. The first was to install the insert and venting; the second started with a Friday no-show followed by a rescheduled Monday visit to activate the unit; the third was to install the trim because the second guy did not come with it; and the fourth was because the third guy brought the wrong trim. Dean's Stove and Spa has a cozy showroom in Plantsville. I received good customer-service from the salesman who showed me different inserts and pushed the service and installation department to move the job to the next phase whenever I emailed him. Unfortunately, I had to initiate all communication. The service and installation department seems to be the weakest link. Dean's has the potential to be a better small business. Improving communication and increasing the sense of urgency to complete jobs would be a great start.

first time there today what a great experience - young lady was making pizzas and she was so sweet and helpful and very enthusiastic!! great pizza na d then we spoke to Zak and he was wonderful also so much great items and info we will be back when ready Awesome experience!!!!!!

This has been the worse experience of my remodel. After a catastrophic structural failure to our home, we were subject to a complete remodel of our home. We chose to go with a gas insert and only found one that fit from Deans. We had Chris the sales manager stop by to take measurements and explained that we wanted it raised to be centered in the opening. We purchased it in April and it is still not complete. We had to wait weeks for ser ice, connection and repair. Having purchased a new unite it failed to work properly and we were told the main gas valve was defective. The installer, Lou, said he never saw this happen before. This process with Deans has been a comedy of errors. If i didn't call and inquire about the work , no one contacted me. Steve the last installer, corrected all of the installation issues we had and measured the opening for the special order finish trim to be cut. He shows up and its not cut correctly. A week goes by, no call, no Steve, no finish trim and here we sit. I advise anyone who needs or thinks they want an appliance that may be available from Deans, to find it elsewhere. To date 06/2020 the install is still not complete !!!
