Stayed here 5 weeks for nativity in 2007. Travelled from Melbourne, Australia. I received what I believe to be an Othodox monastic experience. It took some time to adjust to the services and the monastic way of life, however in the end it was an amazing experience. I had the opportunity to meet Fr. Herman a couple times (God rest his soul). It's secluded and bare. More secluded than most monasteries on Mt. Athos. No cell reception, no running hot water, no electricity (not in 2007 anyway), but all this only added to the true way and feel of monasticism and inclined you quiet yourself. The surroundings are beautiful, especially I felt during the fall. The Fathers and Brothers and Sisters down the way are all inviting and caring. By the end of my visit it was a place I could call home. I hope to take my family for a pilgrimage here in the coming years. God bless you and hope to see you soon.

Wonderful, beautiful, little monastery in the mountains. I personally came to know the mother of God here. Great brotherhood and amazing book press. Great place to go to grow in your relationship with Christ.

Very nice Serbian Orthodox monastery located to the west of Red Bluff. Monastic community is very nice and accepting. I would recommend a visit to this monastery if in the area.

Came all the way from Belgrade to see the monastery. Felt at home. Everyone should read the biography of Serafim Rose, to get the picture how much love and faith was needed to build this monastery.

Amazing crew of dedicated lovers of Jesus. One of my favourite places to go to get away and get encouraged and reconnected with God. If you're not familiar with Orthodox Christianity I would recommend doing a little research prior below coming to learn the basics. It's a bit like going back in time 1,000 years... No rock and roll worship, limited electricity, zero internet or WiFi, just long traditional services, clouds of incense, the major services include short sermons from the Bible, but the minor ones is more Psalms and traditional prayers and lots of a cappella singing, and a lot of silence to connect with God, healthy organic meals. Great spiritual direction and multi-cultural monks from the USA and worldwide - A
