This plant provided 680 MW of clean and zero-emission power for Massachusetts for nearly 47 years. With proper upgrades and maintenance it could have provided an additional 33 years of climate-saving zero-emission power. It's a damn shame that natural gas and the useful idiots in the wind and solar lobbies have succeeded in shuttering this plant. The climate and future generations of children weep for our ignorance today. This power plant was a marvel of science and and engineering! We will rue the day this facility closed it's doors forever.

Best place to work at. Cream of the crop management/workforce. I feel safe sleeping in my office at all times.

It’s tragic there closing this. Natural gas is probably less safe than nuclear, just look at the Merrimack valley gas explosion. I thought we supported clean energy

Doing a project on it for Chemistry right now! What a great plant and source of energy! Don't believe the haters, it'll never blow up!

You ignorant people that complain that nuclear power is unsafe dont know a damn thing about powers plants let alone stepped in one or worked in one nuclear power is the safest and cleanest power stations we have. This plant shutting down will have a negative impact on the economy. The people of mass really need to think about having another nuke built to replace this one. I'm a millwright btw have worked on this plant and all types of other power plants like the ones that are actually bad for the environment aka fossil/gas/coal great plant gunna be sad to see it shut down

It is an experience I do not want to know. This is no place to have a nuclear power plant- When will we learn? BEFORE a tragedy or AFTER? Or will we pay attention to those who weren't as fortunate to still have time to change those odds? The world today makes this plant a HIGH RISK for surrounding civilians and I'll tell you this--we need to shut it down and get it the hel away from surrounding residents--it will be catastrophic (clean energy wont do any good if you're all sick and/or dead so the risk vs benefit cannot be denied ...dead is dead, cant change that!
