Beautiful place! Saw lots of unique and uncommon birds. Like a Loggerhead Shrike and Northern Harrier. We were the only ones there which was awesome. The facilities are closed though and there are no public bathrooms unfortunately. Great place to social distance!

Great day hike. Pros: 3 trails to choose from. Different distances. Very well maintained trails. There is a visitor's center with some really cool artifacts and pamphlets about the preserve. Friendly staff. Stunning scenery. Picnic spots near the lake. Cons: The path we took back had some large loose rocks which was slippery and I twisted my ankle (no biggie. Not injured) There is NO shade, be prepared. (There are several spots to sit and enjoy nature) also there is no water once on the trails. Be sure to fill up your bottle near the restrooms at the welcome center. Overall a fantastic way to escape the city life and do some outdoor exploring.

Ok trail. Very hot no shade so bring hat and water I saw lots of birds hawk. There’s two trails red and yellow both quick hike in my opinion. I’ll be back when it’s older.

A good place to hike for a few hours. We didn't see much wildlife although the interpretive center had many displays of the wildlife seen in the preserve. For the most part, the preserve is wide open fields with some stands of pine or cypress. Go on a cooler day and take a hat.

Really pleasant walk, will definitely be back it's a longish drive from the main road; you get to see a fair way into the distance and there are some stop-off points along the way. There is a long walk if you do the red and yellow path worthy of a couple of hours of strolling. Unfortunately, I was so hungry that i almost tackled my hubby for the snacks in his backpack that we decided (to save us both from potential injury) to head back after the red walk. The path was quite water-logged so you have an excellent chance of splattering the backs of your legs with mud or have to walk through the palms/grasses, but it makes for some fab pictures the views to Lake Bulter are well worth the splatters!!
