Had a fabulous experience at Island Tackle! Was visiting Port A for the week and my nephew wanted to go fishing. It was our first time fishing in the ocean so we had a lot of questions. Randall and his wife were very patient and knowledgable. They hooked us up with a rental pole and the basic gear we needed for a day of fishing. I highly recommend Island Tackle and will be back in the future!

On a recent trip to Port A, my husband wanted to buy a surf casting pole. He said he wanted to go to Island Tackle and at that point I found myself along with Charlie Brown in the classroom. Whaa whaa yada, yada something, whaa something, yada. So of course, I said okay because I did not want him to know I had not heard a word after Island Tackle. Once there we found the shop to be well stocked. The gentleman behind to counter was courteous and very knowledgeable. He provided a lot of information. We never felt like we were being sold something. My husband found a pole that he said was fantastic because it, whaa whaa yada yada something. That is as he was on his way to the checkout counter. That is when I thought I really really should have listened closer to what he said. I thought we were going to just look, silly me. He is a lot less whiny now and brings home more fish!

Great people equals a great business!!! Locally owned and operated by the owners, a refreshing mom and pop enterprise. They may not have the big retail quantity, but what they have is quality and they generally have what you need. Prices are more than fair. What little they may lack in knowledge, they make up for in helpfulness and an “if I don’t know, I’ll find out” way of doing things.

Small shop with good selection of what you need to catch fish on the island. Owner was EXTREMELY helpful as was other staff. Also sells fresh baits. Will be using this store often when in Port A!

Island Tackel OF Aransas AMAZING PLACE!!! August 2019 Helen is absolutely amazing. This place is awesome. Great prices and she had the best advice, she is very sweet and knows what she is talking about. IF YOU WANT TO CATCH FISH stop in and she will hook you up with the best tackle at the best prices we have found in town. Makes the drive from Arizona not a problem to catch big fish!!!!! August 2018..... Back for more. This place is amazing. Absolutely love this shop. So much good information, good prices great results ️️️️ August 2017...Best place to go while fishing. Helen is a sweatheart and she knows her fishing better than any other shop we went to. Great prices, wide selection, great value. Friendliest and nicest person we have met since leaving Az. If you want to talk shop or need HELP with fishing, this is the place to go!!!! :) Thank you for all of your help. I can't emphasize that enough.
