We loved our stay at Whalen's. It was cozy, clean, peaceful and the views were wonderful. It is a perfect location to see many grand Michigan sights, Turnip Rock and the lighthouse were our favorites, but we also saw a great deal of wildlife. The best part was the people who work there. They treat you like family! We really enjoyed the many moments we spent sharing life with Jean. She made my trip by recommending an awesome boat tour to Turnip Rock! Kathy was really kind too. We also liked that the cabin was fully stocked with all we needed. We liked learning more of the history of Grindstone's too. Great trip!

Probably one of the most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. Was told explicitly that quiet hours were at 11, however was screamed at by someone I believe named Ray about our volume at 9:30 pm. When I asked about quiet hours I was told 11pm quiet hours means "quiet quiet", whatever the hell that means. Would NOT recommend unless you plan on having a silent trip-anything else would upset the retirement community that lives there. Also website did not do an effective job of displaying the cabins that are spitting distance from the trailer park the company owns. No privacy whatsoever.

Cabin # 3 is basic, small & affordable. Some what crammed for 3 people. Parking lot faces cabin. Shame there isn't more space around the cabins for relaxing. Overall crammed feeling, both interior & grounds. The price is great but probably wouldn't stay again.

Very nice place! We enjoyed our stay, wish it had been longer. Our "room" was an apartment, fully stocked kitchen with full refrigerator, nice large flat screen t.v.. Very quiet and peaceful. Only negative was the 2 full size beds were more like a larger twin, would have preferred one queen or king in the room, but otherwise very clean !

Super clean cabin, direct access to the marina. Everyone was extremely nice. A very pleasant experience all around.

We stayed in cabin #3 for just one night. It's a nice tiny cozy cabin right next to the office. They were very welcoming and offered us coffee right inside the office. Cabins are stocked with dishes, cookware, blankets and towels. Very clean. You can also take a nice walk out back by the boats.
