The food, the service and the atmosphere were all very exceptional. I ordered the shrimp salad and avacado on a croissant which was fresh, tasty and light and the cinnamon spice tea was delicious. The menu had lots of dishes and teas I would like to try so I will definitely be back.
My family and I have been coming to the Secret Garden Tea Room for special occasions for years. Pre covid it was a serene yet fun atmosphere with wonderful innovative and very tasty refreshments. I am pleased to report that it is still so warmly familiar and soothing during this pandemic. We felt safe and enjoyed our Royal Tea immensely. Our waitress was properly attired with a very fun fascinator and took care of us so nicely. This is a charming spot with a gracious and friendly staff. Very clean and appointed beautifully. I highly recommend the experience
If you love tea service you must come here! Found this hidden treasure on my first excursion to Port Jefferson, but we were too late for the last seating. Three months later we came back and it was everything! Family owned and operated by a mother & daughter team. Mom makes the tea sandwich and daughter is running the front end. Called to make reservations and got a voice message stating to leave name, #, date & time of reservation request and you’d receive a call back. My call was quickly returned and reservation taken. They offer High Tea, Royal Tea, and a la crate service of quiches, sandwiches, soup/salad, and daily specials. I’m told the tea sandwiches change monthly (with the exception of chicken salad that is a constant).The tea menu has excellent variety. Ambiance is spectacular with attention to details in table and place settings. Around the corner from the dining area is a settee & mirror and the walls are filled with hats if you want to dress up! The tea was great, served in lovely eclectic bone china, and properly prepared & served. The scones, cream, jam, sandwiches were all precisely as one would expect for a high tea portion; dainty, light, appetizing, and appealing visual presentation. This is way better service than anywhere in NYC. Great restaurant service and an adorable gift shop at the entrance. I wanted to buy everything! #LocalGuides
