I'm sure this would have been a very great place to explore, if it wasn't for COVID, and the fact that it was closed when I got there. I don't understand why they are so many negative and low reviews. Yes, this is a small tiny lighthouse and tiny museum, but it is what it is. Don't complain if you're looking for some big tourist experience. This is it. This is the history that is connected here.

Excellent climb, beautiful scenery, breathtaking vistas, and very helpful and friendly staff. Well worth the visit. ***Heads up*** If there is lightning within 20 miles of the lighthouse there is a strict no-climb policy. Please be aware of this and the ever changing weather conditions on the Gulf Coast. Please be understanding with the staff in case this occurs.

Awesome place to get a bird's eye view of the area. The last few stairs get pretty steep but the view is worth the climb. Make sure to spend a few minutes in the gift shop too, the lady working there is really friendly and has lots of information to share about the history of the area and of course the lighthouse.

Such a cool lighthouse. Staff is super friendly. I cant wait for them to finish the old lighthouse homes. Some of their sales to support the staff and repairs are from donations people have brought in to them. If you're claustrophobic dont attempt the climb. It is really worth if though if you can do it. They sell lighthouse passport books there you can buy to be stamped for each light house you go to.
