Very nice place. Loved all the dogs. Nice talking to people... made me feel great...after being in this virus and all the restrictions.

Every visit is so refreshing. The water crashing on the rocks will leave you hypnotized and will clear out all the noise in your head. Always good for a personal therapy session.

Regardless of the time of year it is a beautiful place to go and walk or just listen to the water along the lakefrontIf you go in during the day when the pavilion is usually open you can actually see the history of the area and how the area was reclaimed and returned to its natural state from what it used to be. The lakefront beach area is not what it used to be which is unfortunate that is due to several bad winter storms , severe erosion of the beachfront and the slight increase in the water level of lake Michigan regardless of that it is still a beautiful place with several long walking trails throughout the reclaimed spaces. Note: Yes your GPS is accurate in taking you into a industrial area to gain access to the lakefront It is tucked back in the area If you're having a hard time finding it please look it up on the portage Indiana parks department website or the Indiana dunes website they will include directions on how to get there should your GPS fail you.

It's a great place for a walk along Lake Michigan! Be sure to look to the West, and slightly North; you can see Chicago! You'll be able to identify it by the skyscrapers. It also looks like it's surrounded by water, but of course it isn't. (Just don't be fooled by other buildings along the lakeshore.) You'll likely recognize Chicago, but if you're not sure, just ask others to help you. It's always fun to see it! There's a nice pavilion there, and Indiana Dunes State Park is also nearby. Lake Michigan is a valued treasure!

It's a great place to take a walk and view the lake. They are working on making a beach area again, awesome!! Just wish they would cut down some weeds and what I call scrub trees.
