We have used this company to inspect and clean our chimney and wood burning fireplace for several years. After missing one year of cleaning, we hired them to inspect and clean. The inspectors found multiple places in our fire box and chimney with significant amounts of wood and/or framing exposed to open flame. They cleaned the fireplace and gave us a bid for repairs. We had two other local reputable companies provide repair bids. Both of them made comments regarding how dirty our flue and chimney were noting significant creosote buildup. Our cleaning with Portland chimney occurred on Oct. 9, 2010. The subsequent inspections were both within 60 days with no use of our fireplace. Portland Chimney obviously did a very poor job of cleaning our chimney and flue. I sent them an email a week ago in an attempt to provide them with the opportunity to either re-clean or reimburse us. I have received no response. I would NEVER EVER use this company again. I feel as though in addition to providing poor cleaning service, they may have provided subpar inspection services. Do not use this company. Please note: I SPOKE WITH THE COMPANY AND THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE AND PROFESSIONAL. BILL MADE SURE THAT OUR ISSUE WAS RESOLVED. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

They met us on site within the hour, gave us an estimate on the spot and started the repair same day. Not many companies can and will work this quickly. Thankful we were able to keep our customers happy and avoid additional issues. Well Done!

We had an estimate done by Portland Chimney a few weeks ago to rebuild our chimney from the roof up. The estimate was very competitive and we decided to go with this business for the work. Once the estimate was accepted, work was scheduled within a week. The crew that rebuilt the chimney was courteous, timely and did an exceptional job. Portland Chimney had great customer service from start to finish!

We had 5 chimney caps manufactured and installed. Portland Chimney was very responsive and professional from their first appointment to their last. The bid was based upon the work and not the zip code and they were very fair. They were very good about calling us to notify us of progress on our work or any changes do to the weather. We will use there services wherever we can. They are the best !
