Me being a local weather enthusiast, Portland does an AMAZING job when it comes to tracking the weather. They keep it up to date and alert us when necessary (except for a couple times they didn't but I'm not gonna hate on them for it) Keep it up Portland!

Fantastic place to take pictures especially at night the neon lights surrounding and a good world Chinese restaurant cuisine right next to it, to pop in and eat great traditional food.

As a local weather tracker, I appreciate the time that people in the Portland office have spent answering my questions when it comes to systems they use. They also take my reports when any issues with the Portland NOAA weather radio transmitter and fix them very fast. Many thanks to the people who work there! Hoping to come by the office sometime and look around!

Something ridiculous this ways comes. I live in Bend, where the weather data collection spot is at the airport. Day after day after day, when there's abundant (for the high desert) rainfall all over town, the newspaper next day reports that the NWS has detected a "trace." It was raining for a few hours here yesterday, and rain was falling everywhere I went on some daily errands, but today's paper reports a "trace." The reporters just shrug: "We get it from the Weather Service." It's nearly pouring out there now (and has been for at least three hours, and I'm pretty sure it will show as a trace tomorrow, as it has almost every time serious rainfall has occurred here. Obviously the site at the airport collects data that doesn't represent what's going on here. I think Bend is a big enough town now that it ought to get a grown-up weather data station, rather than the half-fast set-up that exist now.
