What an amazing home! I’m using the word “home” on purpose because this is much more than just a hostel. From the smoke free porch to the workout room I was delighted. The boys aren’t too shabby either ;). Definitely will be coming back!

Beautiful hostel with such lovely decor. It is kept spotlessly clean and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the yurt, which was a unique experience that we would love to come back to. Thanks for a perfect stay

This is an amazing hostel. Staff are friendly and have a ton of food, drink and activity recommendations. Plus they do trips to places of interest, when I was there they did a trip to island and to waterfalls on Columbia gorge. Very clean, modern kitchens and floor space. Every night there is a party, except after 10pm so everyone can sleep.

I love guesthouse because people staying there are usually open and friendly. Here is same. Staff are nice and rooms are clean. You can get a towel here. There are recommended place lists nearby. You can rent a bike 20/day, 40/3 days.

Pros: Amazing location! Close to Forest Park (highly rated forest accessible by public transportation), Piedmont Park (Oregon’s oldest rise garden), Cherry Sprout Produce organic local grocery store, and two historic arts districts (Mississippi and Alberta)! Incredibly kind staff (especially Jeff and Kai) who genuinely care about people and making guests feel welcome. \u003c3 Unlike other hostels that don’t conscientiously create a sense of community, Traveler’s House staff create an environment where you actually feel like the entire hostel is a family. :) Cons: None.

Travelers house is the best hostel for meeting new people. When you leave, you will leave... Not as a guest, but as a friend. The staff is usually another young adult eager for life in a new city. There is a Thursday communal dinner and group outings on Friday and Saturday nights. Although a bit dizzying at first, meeting everyone has its benefits. Join the traveler's house if you love traveling with new friends.

It's cold and rainy outside. You enter the house, take off your scarf and jacket and boots, you tip toe carefully over the dark wooden floor, into the living area where a guitar resides in the corner and a sofa invites you to relax. Someone might be making tea in the kitchen, you make some too, the person says hi and you say hi but somehow it sounds fuzzy, it doesn't bounce around in the room like you'd usually expect, instead the words are absorbed by the warmth of the place. From the kitchen you go lie down on the sofa, it is quiet, that person has left, but you don't realize. You slip into a new pair of thick, woollen socks. You read your book and sip your tea and reflect on your day, or your life. The warm, cozy atmosphere finally lulls you to sleep. An exceptionally homely vibe, truely as it advertises; a house for travellers. Price is 30 dollars/night, mixed room, a great price considering the excellent condition of the place. Recommended for: - people who enjoy privacy - people who enjoy quiet, peaceful places Not recommended for - people eager to socialize - loud people who like to partaaaay possible cons it's so quiet that you might even feel like you're all alone in portland :p (this might depend on time of year, i was there at the beginning of winter)

I went to Portland on a recon mission to see if I would like to move there. I booked last minute at the Traveler's House and have zero regrets. The house and staff are AMAZING! The main house was booked up by a private party but I got to stay in the 'house next door'. It was small with only 2 bunk rooms but was exactly what I wanted. Clean, comfortable, friendly with all the amenities I needed without being too overwhelming. Easy keypad entry for security and flexible entry. Super nice and approachable staff, it felt like I was staying with friends. It is not a party hostel which I enjoyed and was even able to take an uninterrupted afternoon nap, post urban exploration, which I feel is normally unheard of when staying in hostels. It is also in a great location on a quiet residential street with ample safe parking if you have your own vehicle but also walking distance to multiple hot spots for shops, restaurants, coffee shops and classic Portland food truck pods! I highly recommend this place!
