My son has been a student here for a couple of years. We have continually been impressed with the instruction and experience offered by Portsmouth Aikido. They have been creative in continuing to offer class while keeping the students safe during this pandemic. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Portsmouth Aikido to anyone interested in martial arts.

We absolutely love it here! My two kids have been attending kid's classes for years and I am so happy we found portsmouth Aikido! Sensei Aaron and Sensei Sophie are so patient with the kids and both my littles have gained so much knowledge and self control. Also, they have handled pandemic protocols seamlessly, and I have all the confidence sending my kids!

An absolutely top notch martial arts school, but with an art that provides both exercise, conflict resolution and self defense. While many traditional dojos are sadly having to close their doors due to Covid, AAron Cass, The chief instructor, has found a way to conduct classes both remotely and using a \hands off\ approach using wooden training weapons to replicate open hand techniques.

I have been attending Portsmouth Aikido for almost 5 years now and it’s changed my life! I’ve learned new skills that are not just applicable to the mat, but useful in my everyday life. When covid hit, Aaron Sensei never missed a beat. We switched to Zoom classes until the weather permitted small outside classes using naturally socially distancing swords and jos. We recently started small socially distanced classes inside and I feel perfectly safe. I highly recommend this dojo for anyone looking to learn a new skill and meet some really great people.

I have been practicing Aikido for more than 40 years. I train in Portland Maine at Aikido of Maine and have been a guest at Portsmouth Aikido many times for seminars, special events, and occasionally just for a change of pace. Portsmouth Aikido is warm and welcoming both by the instructors and the members. The instruction is knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and the dojo is a beautiful place to train.
