Great builder and quality work. And this is not just Sasser, but in this current market, i feel the new construction builders are taling advantage of the situation which is ol but also talking advantage of people which is not ok. With minimal existing home inventory right now they are able to do this.

I am having the same problems as Mr. Brooks in regard to follow up on one year punch list. The HVAC company came out 5 months ago and still hasn't returned to finish the repairs. I'm doing as much of the punch list as I can. This is my third new home but my first experience like this. Not what I expected.
First of all, let me say how surprised I am about all of the positive reviews regarding Sasser Construction. I have not had the same experience with Eric Sasser and his team. In choosing to retire after 26-plus years of active military service, my family and I made the decision to live in Suffolk, VA. We have owned our \Sasser Home\ for almost four years and had to settle with structural as well as cosmetic errors because Eric convinced us that he was going to make things right (and we made the mistake of trusting his word). We are still awaiting original (inside and outside) punch list items to be completed, continue to deal with a lack of responsiveness and a total disregard towards us as a client that made such a significant investment. For example, our driveway was so unprofessionally installed (aggregate concrete) that it started cracking and deteriorating within days. Sasser Construction (and Eric's subcontractors) attempted to cover it up with off-colored stain. We continue to ask for Eric's help to make things right, but to no avail. He continues to build new homes, but forgot about us.
I met with Eric Sasser (the owner). He showed me the plans that his company designed for our clubhouse in our neighborhood. He and his staff went out their their way to show me the features and progress made on this project, although they were under no obligation to do so. If you looking for new home on the water in Suffolk, or want a custom built home give them call. They are very professional and accommodating.

I highly recommend Sasser Construction and have lived in my Sasser built home since 1996. Their quality construction, excellent customer service, and attention to every detail are all good reasons to consider having Sasser Construction build your next home. With many choices available to consumers today, it makes sense to compare the overall value before you make a decision.
