Seth and his crew did a great job. They are just finishing up our install. I can't wait till they are fully functional after city inspection. We will be able to generate about 80% of our power from solar.

Well, they came the next day after my inquiry. But they are VERY pushy and aggressive to purchase 50,000 of solar panels. They really want you to get \qualified\ that day. The representatives tactics seem to be call a \manager\ to answer any of your concerns. The rep said that if I were to move some day, they would move the panels to my new house for FREE. Well I wanted to see that in writing, but she called her manager instead. He actually said it would cost 150 a panel. So that was a LIE. Just be wary of this company, the seem very sketchy. Looking at these other reviews I'll shop around.
The beginning of the process is great, they communicate well, the installers were professional but then once the systems is up and running customer service is a joke and they don't care after they get their money. They tell you you will save on your electric bill but you don't. My bill has gone up plus paying on a loan for the panels. They keep saying they will do an analysis but never do. I was told by the sales rep one thing and when I called customer service they said \Did you get it in Writing?\ Buyer beware. Don't waste your money. I have had the panels since July of 2020 and have yet seen a credit or lower Consumers bill.
I gave this company a previous 5-star review based on the installation and start-up process. Their team was incredibly professional at the start, but it has been a total nightmare since. The agreement we signed stated that we could expect up to a 71% savings on our electric bill, which was lower than the original sales person's promise that we would only have to pay connection fees once the panels were paid off. After the first few months we were having issues with the costs of power, and they came out and said they \fixed\ an issue and gave us a credit to cover the costs of the panels for a few months, which was appreciated, but the problems still exists. Now more than 14 months into this experiment we are saving a total of 5% on average on our electric bill, while paying over 200 additionally for solar panels. These panels are costing me nearly double my bill without solar panels. I have called and emailed Power Home Solar several times. The wait times on the phone are ridiculous and confusing with transfers between states and offices. I have sent emails to staff who respond with caring words, but then there is no action. We also realized that their agreements/contracts are written very carefully so that when you sign, you surrender your right to sue or seek monetary compensation when they do not live up to their end of the deal and promises made. So you must go through arbitration with an arbitrator of THEIR choice in the building industry - not even an impartial person. DO NOT SIGN that agreement without having your attorney review it. So we have engaged an attorney to begin the arbitration process. We just want the panels to work and do what they said they would do. Hopefully they can make that happen. Otherwise we want the panels removed and our roof fixed after removal. I will update this post as we proceed through arbitration.
I continue to be disappointed by Power Home. I installed my system in the spring. I have received the following credit on my Consumers Energy bill the last two months: October: 103.02 November: 97.19 My total electric bill for October was 271.79. So my credit for October ended up being 37% of the bill. My electric bill for November was 275.78. So my November credit ended up being 35% of my bill. When I purchased the system I was told I would account for 80% of my use. Evidently a lie. A credit of over 30% seems like a good idea. But I am paying over 200 a month for the system so I am paying significantly more for my power now than before I had the system. My power use before I installed the system and the power I now use have not changed at all. Even though I generate power it does not reduce my power use. October 2019 - 1832 kWh October 2020 - 1919 kWh November 2019 - 1865 kWh November 2020 - 1876 kWh I was told the system would account for 80% of my electric use. This is simply not true. I would be very wary of purchasing this product. I have repeatedly tried to get someone from Power Home to respond to my questions. Perhaps I misunderstood what the system was going to do for me. If I did then I was a naive consumer and that is on me. But customer service does not respond. I waited over 30 minutes yesterday on hold and no one ever answered the phone. I am very disappointed in Power Home. I would encourage anyone to think twice about purchasing this product. Steve Matthews
