Beautiful little spot we found while hiking through Institute Woods. Highly recommend it if you are into bird watching.

I'm not a bird watcher, but even I can see that there are all kinds of interesting birds in the swamp at the center of this refuge. A nice elevated platform provides a good view. Parks lead off in several directions for long walks along the river and into the Institute Woods.
Splendid and uncrowded hiking. Beautiful place to spend time connecting with nature and observing the changing seasons.
Been here three or four times on the hunt of unusual birds. Can be hit or miss depending , of course, on time of year. Muddy river trail. Good getaway
