I can't understand how this office is still in operation when no one answers the phone even the web site is a joke I was unable to pay my taxes in December so now there's a block on my registration how am I supposed to get this straightened out if I can't get anyone on the phone..

Can’t get in touch with anyone. They put a tax block on my registration renewal when I owe 0 in back or current taxes, then the phone just keeps ringing and ringing when I try to talk to someone to remove the block so I can register my car. Other departments will answer though, only to transfer you to the department who won’t answer the phone.

As i read it seems that that phone issue has been going on for several YEARS. I waited and let the phone ring for 25 mins before being answered. I was also turned down to register my vehicle because of a tax block. When i did reach someone they explained my taxes had been paid and to go back to the dmv. I'm curious if anyone inside of this system has to experience this and how they would feel.

Can confirm that they don't answer the phone. Plus the fee for paying taxes online was over 20.

No, they don't answer the phone, which is unfortunate, but exactly the same as Boston and Warwick (the other two cities I've dealt with). When I went to City Hall I was helped promptly and without issue.
