Been coming here for many years. Always loved it. Unfortunately the storms have taken away all the 1st row of beachfront homes as well as the road. The erosion is now up too the 2nd row of homes and these will soon succumb to the ocean. The beach at normal time is almost non existent...

This is a great public Access if you have teenagers and are looking for the place to go first.. stretch your legs and they can enjoy The view with lots of other teenagers and there's volleyball net setup and horseshoes there's always something happening at this beach access.. the other access are easy to visit.. and there's usually three or four or five places to park near the many public access areas.. some have built in seats and some have handicap rails to hold onto.. if you get on shore drive from Surf City toward the North end.. there's a new access.. where is easier to carry your chairs or coolers or fishing equipment you can walk over it no steps to walk up or down and it's great for older people and people fishing etc small children.. there's plenty of parking at that space.. there are usually access is available with parking you may just have to go to the next one cuz they get crowded but theres always somewhere you can park and go over to the beach at Topsail Island... We are a non commercialized Island, there are lots of local businesses to enjoy. I've been coming to this island since high school.. and that's when the North end was still the ocean.. before it was sold and houses were built on it.. and FEMA continues to rebuild them.. government problem.. I hope they get it fixed, please visit ,you will enjoy! While you're here you will become a local and you'll want to come back!
