Terrible experience! I was really excited that they were going to stay open during covid. The day I got my membership they closed I never even got a chance work out there. They make it practically impossible to cancel without going in. I went in to cancel and I didn't think I was gonna be able to get my money back for not being able to work out it was fine 50 bucks wasn't the end of the world. Then 3 days later my account got charged again and I went back they said sorry the charge was back dated but don't worry you can work out for these two months. Yeah like I wanted to workout there now after that. The most DIRTY thing the manager did was had me sign 3 things when I canceled i didn't know what I was signing, I assumed it was all to do with canceling. Nope the manager gave 10s for a survey and had me sign it with out telling me what it was for. So immoral and unprofessional. I dont like being lied to.

UPDATE: Mt Side has done an amazing job keeping the equipment up and working since the time of my 1 star review! I have been a gym rat for many decades and consider Mt Side gym one of the best. Staff is super friendly as well as most all the fellow gym rats we’ve had the pleasure to know for a few years now. Mt Side, keep up the GREAT work! Original Review: BROKEN EQUIPMENT is an ISSUE!!! I've held over a dozen gym memberships over the years. All the gyms had a PROMPT policy of getting broken equipment fixed, except for MountainSide Fitness Queen Creek (not sure on other locations, but since they are under the same ownership I am sure they probably are all the same). Mountainside Fitness is not the cheapest gym to be a member, that being said I would expect a higher level of commitment on the side of the owner and business policy. I love the staff and the atmosphere of the gym and would gladly remove this negative review if the owner will hear his paying customers. Gym equipment maintenance MUST be taken seriously if the gym expects to keep customers let alone happy customers. Photos show equipment that is broken and has been for 3 weeks with no end in sight according to staff. Staff informs me that equipment is repaired by an independent service company, and blame all downed equipment on this want to be Service company that seems to have Mountainside handcuffed to their lousy way of doing business and assume no responsibility. Also a photo of a broken ceiling fan in the area where it is needed most - Leg machines/power racks.

Really disappointed with how this gym handled memberships during Covid. They put up the biggest fuss to reopen and were one of the last gyms to reopen. I called to cancel during Covid so that I could switch to EOS and was told that I had to come in to cancel, when asked where do I go if your building is closed, I was told that is just our policy. Instead of doing the right thing by their customer (since they could not provide service), they have been threatening to send me to collections. I am in the membership business space and would never treat clients like this. If that would have handled the cancellation professionally, I would still recommend them to other people but there is no chance now.

Predatory Business Practices. Avoid this Gym. They have cancellation policies in place which make it intentionally difficult and inconvenient to cancel for the sole purpose of extracting additional monies. I cancelled my membership in August 2020 via email and multiple phone calls, however they insisted that I come into the club during COVID pandemic and refused to stop billing until so. Then after I did ultimately come into the gym and sign cancellation policy, they continued to harass me for months, threatening to send me to collections. Worst experience I have ever had at a gym. Tom , I am disappointed this is how you have chosen to run your business.
