Made it to Maxi's! First meal in 2021 and it didn't disappoint! Broth was light but flavorful, love her dumplings the most! Dace fish balls are bigger than regular fish balls in other restaurants, you can tell that these are homemade. Fried fish skin was so crispy! Great for snacks! Service was good too! Maxi herself is very friendly.

Had hot noodle soup here on a freezing day, And a side of veggies. Delicious food, and love how you can pick what kind of noodles you want, went with egg noodles, will do wide noodles next. Add a bit of chili and you are good to go! Service was great and they have good distance between tables outside. Coming back next time I’m in the area. Thanks!

Maxi's is a local favorite. There's almost always a line but it moves quickly. Avg wait was 5 mins. I came here on a friends' suggestion who is also a foodie so well advised. I ordered the Jia Jiang Mein (excellent) and two kinds of wonton noodles...one with the stewed beef (slow cooked and super tender) and the other with fish dumplings (dace fish ball I believe it is called on the menu). Prices are a little higher than my usual Chinatown haunts but again, this was worth it since I didn't have to trek to Manhattan. Flushing has the spots for feasting...you must stop here! During the pandemic, there is no indoor dining but even if there was, the space is very cozy...not sure how many tables they could fit. There is one bench and outdoor table should you want to eat outdoors. I'd totally come back as I want to try their signature chili oil and fried fish skins.

I took a trip from LI to Flushing just to check this place out! Well worth the trip! Ordered the two toppings noodle soup. I ordered wontons and dumplings for my two toppings. These are not wontons and dumplings that you get in your neighborhood Chinese restaurant. These are the size of meatballs filled with shrimp and pork and wrapped in thin noodles not the thick ones that most restaurants on LI use. I’d say take the drive get some soup, support a small business and let me know if you’re going so you can bring some soup back for me!
