Love going to the original stand every time I visit NYC. The best gyros I've ever had. Don't forget to add the special white sauce to your platter. Every time I go there's always a long line but it moves quickly. I Still can't believe these guys have been there for so many years. They serve the best food.

The outdoor patio seating has nice views of the surrounding bay. We came here on a Monday Autumn morning for brunch and a few people paddle boarding in the calm waters beside us. We ordered the breakfast enchiladas and the fried chicken and French toast. The enchiladas were good. It was topped with a generous heap of guacamole and sour cream over three enchiladas. As for the fried chicken...OMG! It was so juicy and tender and the crispy coating was unlike anything I've ever had! Definitely order that if you come here!

I’m confused as to why this has so many stars & great reviews. Went to the 40th st location which is not only hard to get to but looks like somewhere you go to get set up. The food was mediocre & not fresh in the least bit. I suggest finding a good cart in your neighborhood and patronizing there.

I'll keep it simple: you have to get this if you're ever in NYC. It's affordable (about 8 for a platter with extra sauce, which they sometimes don't charge for, depending on their mood) and delicious. The red hot sauce is VERY spicy if you don't normally add hot sauce to everything. The white sauce is tangy and delicious - buy more than you think you need. You can buy as much sauce as your heart desires, it's packaged and has their logo and everything. The lines are daunting, but the service is quick and efficient, and they have a whole assembly system going so you won't be waiting long at all. Don't get off the line, ignore the rude drunks, and it will be worth it and there's almost always a line, even at 4am. Rule of thumb: if there's a line for something in NYC, there's a delicious reward waiting at the front. They are now a franchise, I believe, and they have a storefront on 14th street between 1st and 2nd aves. The cart is slightly better and way cheaper - the prices inside the store are almost double that of the cart. Either one is fine, the taste is almost exactly the same. I've probably had the chicken platter over 50 times and I don't know a single person who doesn't like their food. On their \we are different\ slogan: I think the difference between this and other Halal carts in NYC is the fact that they use higher quality meat and theirs is not greasy at all. Also, they don't add peppers or onions to their dish. I prefer the peppers and onions, but this place serves way more delicious food than all the other Halal carts in NYC. A true NYC staple.
