I absolutely loved Klara's when it was at its Cary location. I am not as happy with the re-envisioned restaurant at its new location near NC State. The menu was severely downsized removing many interesting dishes. The portion sizes have also diminished. The new location does not have the same charm as the previous Cary location. I am very glad that I was able to visit Klara's before the location change. The food is still interesting and tasty. I would still recommend that you try Klara's. My purpose for writing this review, is to recommend that the management bring back those touches which made Klara's so special.

Klara's has delicious Czech food made and served by real Czech people and located in a nice downtempo atmosphere. The staff and decor are inviting (but not *too* inviting) and the beer selection is good. Everything I've tried on the menu so far has been better than expected and the portions are generous. I highly recommend the Potato Dumpling and especially the Beef Stroganov. Klara's is sometimes busy but never crowded. This is an underrated gem of Hillsborough Street and Raleigh is lucky to have stolen Klara's from Cary!
