We had a great time. Took just under 2 hours to arrive from our place downtown Albuquerque. The kids had fun. Highly recommended!

We took the 2 mile loop, and I loved it! Even on a super windy day, I loved seeing the view from the top. Seeing writing and inscriptions from centuries ago made this monument stand out from other national monuments and historical sites. Worth a visit!

Really amazing area to hike! Some amazing views and writings on the cliffs! Definitely recommend it! It's about two hours from Albuquerque and there are tons of places to camp! Both at the El Morro campgrounds and in the mountains near there.

The park gets 4 stars, the angry park ranger gets 1 star. There was no fee the day i visited but you had to listen to a lengthy speech by the park ranger, if you tried to go straight to the trail, she yelled at you to get back in line. It was agonizing... she told every visitor about every trail and all the precautions and suggestions, extremely thorough but unnecessary. I'm not sure why this older woman ranger was so militant but it really was not a great experience. The inscription rock trail is short, fairly flat and should take you about 30 minutes depending how long you stop and read inscriptions. The Spanish ones on the back take awhile to decipher.
