Very pleased with Protech. Fixed my computer quickly, fair price and friendly service. Would use again.
I brought my HP Spectre Ultralight laptop to Jan to replace the keyboard. The shift key was stuck. After taking a week to replace the keyboard my laptop was in worse shape than before the repair. The mouse pad now only works intermittently. The bottom frame of the laptop was bent so that it no longer sits squarely on a flat surface and the bottom cover of the computer is no longer attached properly. Jan broke one of the clips that hold the cover in place. During the time Jan took the computer apart and put it back together he also managed to corrupt the bios requiring a complete re-installation of the Operating System. When Jan came to take a look, he had nothing to say, except to explain how difficult the laptop was to work on. He did not accept responsibility for the issues, nor did he offer to fix the unit. As laptops become more complicated to work on I cannot recommend Jan Frankel to anyone for their repair.
Jan, at Protech Computer Service has such a good sense of how the computer repair world works that he was able to prepare my laptop to be sent back to the manufacturer for repair and guide me through the process. He was able to quickly address the situation and make very helpful suggestions. It is a relief to know that this level of high quality tech service is available nearby. Can't thank him enough for his help.
Jan the computer Man! Very professional. Did the work he said needed to be done. Explained the procedure in simple terms. Charged a fair and honest free. Finished the job in the estimated time given. Always worked with my schedule from drop off to pickup.
