Really nice staff. Our spot was super dusty and the power was in a weird spot. We ended up using a smaller cord to make it the 75' so we couldn't use our ac. My kids loved the mini golf course.

We stayed there in a tent for three nights. The place was great. The tent camping are crammed together but the spots are nice. The bathrooms were very clean and the staff were helpful and nice. When we are in the area again we will stay here again. Lastly the closeness to Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park and Rapid City is great.

We highly recommend this wonderful campground. We rented one of the larger cabins and we were not disappointed. Spacious, clean and all amenities of a hotel room. The staff is forthcoming and attentive and the reservation via telephone is excellently handled. The location is perfect for anything Black Hills, Custer Park or National Monuments. The campsites are in a beautiful wooded area with lots if shade. The place is dog friendly!!

Making a reservation and check in were very easy. Campground seems great, will update after check out in a few days. Update 7/21. Campground was great. Sites were nice although some seemed difficult to get into with bigger trailers. Looking at other campgrounds while out, this one definitely had the most shaded sites. Didn't use any of the amenities except the bathroom and showers. They were clean and in good condition. To busy running around site seeing to use the pool or play mini golf but did see people using them. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Also had deer wander through our site one evening.

This review is based on our 2 night stay in a small cabin (13 x 13) for 120 each night. Pros: the resort is pretty and rustic, quite large, lots to do for a family with children, close to many activities and sites! Our cabin was clean, beds firm (we like). Cons: We are an older, retired couple...the small cabin seemed perfect for us...except: no coffee pot, (would have loved a nice cup in bed in the morning) no soaps or shampoo provided, no box of kleenex, Wi-Fi was a problem, we were instructed not to download anything, limited bandwidth - only use as necessary, no games, etc. The heater was a small plug in, which was adequate, but with no thermostat, we were up and down all night, unplugging when it got too hot, plugging in again when it got cold. For 120/night, a tiny fridge and microwave would have been awesome, as would a hook on the inside of the bathroom door for a robe or pajamas. There was a small tv with local channels ( which was fine), and a flyswatter which came in handy! Wanted to love it, but didn't.. I might add that for additional dollars, cabins are available with the amenities we would have liked...but 120 was too much for this bare bones (tho cute) cabin, in my opinion...

Our family stayed in a 3 bedroom cabin at this resort. The cabin was very clean and had plenty of room along with all of the necessary amenities. The resort was very quiet and relaxing even during bike week and at full capacity. There are many trails within a short distance and Mt Rushmore was a quick 15 minute drive. We're already planning our next trip here!

Stopped here in Sept. It a great location for central hills. Well kept. Nice hosts. Mini golf. Laundromat. Right on hwy 16 to Keystone, Hill City. Just a good place to stop before going to Hills. Or just stay here

I’m a beginner with the RV and I’m so thankful we stayed at American Buffalo Resort! It is close to Mount Rushmore, the grounds are well kept, and the staff is very helpful... I discovered the RV I rented was missing a connector piece for the hookup. I asked Aaron on staff for help and he got me exactly what I needed in 5 minutes flat! And he helped answer a list of other questions I had about the RV. Thank you Aaron!!!
