Took the train from Reading (about 2.5 hours one way) and it was well worth the trip. The town is pretty small but their are a decent amount of small businesses on the main strip to keep you occupied for a few hours. One day is plenty to explore the area, but if we were to go in the Spring/Summer, I’m sure we could make a trip out of it with the White Water Rafting and Trails in the area.

The Reading Outer Station is a perfect place to board a Reading and Northern train. Plenty of free parking with a convenient location. A bonus during the holiday season is their great light display.
Great place to ride one of the Reading & Northern passenger trains. Friendly staff, free parking and nicely decorated buildings. Covered walkway down to the tracks, and nice railroad decorations. Plus, if you are a railfan like I am, there are plenty of railroad related things to see.
This is a very clean and nice station. We went to Jim Thorpe last weekend on an old diesel cars, that loaded there. To see fall folage. They have trips through Nov. We had such an enjoyable time that we are going again in Nov. This time to explore some of site in Jim Thorpe. Especially the old time jail. A lot of mining history in that area too.
Went on the fall foliage excursion to Jim Thorpe. The station was easy to find lots of free parking and clean facilities.
