We had a great snowmobiling experience with Colorado Backcountry Rentals! Schmitty greeted us as we pulled up and promptly got us set up with paperwork, equipment, maps and instructions. He made all instructions very clear and easy to follow and had full snow gear for us to use (snow suits, boots, helmets and goggles. Their snowmobiles were brand new, in good condition and ran really well and smooth. The guy who helped us go over the snowmobiles was really friendly and made sure we knew what to do before we left. The trails were fun and the half day timing was perfect for our group of 4. We'll definitely be returning!

Booked 3 single snowmobiles a day out and we were accommodated. Rode for a half day and we were able to hit all the trails and went about 50 miles. You have to go to the top of the mountain for some amazing views. We all had a blast the views were amazing and staff were very cool highly recommended!

We rented a side by side for a half a day and had a blast. Amazing sights all around, and Red Cliff alone was worth the drive from Breckenridge. Best part was there was no hassling with truck and trailer like other rentals, you leave straight from there up the trail. We will be back to snowmobile. Loved it.

Having rented UTVs previously I was rather disappointed with the lack of access to any trails. We were told we had to stay on the main path or we could be fined 500 per wheel. The main trail is just a dirt road, which even would have been fine, but our "6 seater" was really a utility cart more than an off road vehicle and for some reason we wouldn't get it to go faster than 15-20 MPH. It would have been great for a family with small kids looking for a gentle ride, but not what we were paying over 400 for. That doesn't include the tip I felt pressured to give when I arrived and was paying. We ended up tipping over 50 between the 4 of us and when I asked what the tip was for I was told it was to pay the guys that work there and they would come help us if we needed it. Isn't that what the rental cost was for? When we came back (early) and told them we weren't able to get it going like we felt it should two guys hopped on, came back and said its fine and we must have had the seat belts buckled in wrong even though we changed drivers and checked buckles multiple times. Very disappointed in what we had gotten for what was charged (plus an hour drive from Breckenridge each way). We were basically left with a "Sorry about that, have a nice day" response. The machine also had a TON of damage on it already. I feel like these guys are trying to get every dime out of their equipment and they didn't really care that we didn't have the fun off road day we had paid for. I'm sure the 4 seaters and ATVs are more fun, but we ended up all in for 500 (including paying the employees for something, although I still don't know what) for a few hours in a utility cart. Reserve with caution. It really is a you get what you get kind of place. The dog is nice though.

I cannot recommend CBR enough. From the staff being awesome to just purely where they are located. The town of Red Cliff is just a awesome small mountain town. We hit em up atleast twice a year. You will get a discount when renting from here and staying at the gorgeous Green Bridge inn. And vice versa with hotel and Mangos across the corner. I like that they all work together to promote tourism in their small town. Read through the CBR reviews as there is a commonality in them. They all have high praise and speak of the friendly staff who love their job. Being from Texas we truly appreciate great hospitality.

Chuck and matt were awesome, we were in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and was visiting from Florida and wanted to ride side by sides in the mountains and found this company who was 2 hours away but we went ahead and had a BLAST in the mountains of Vail and Highly recommend Colorado Backcountry rentals!!! 5 star experience.

This was fantastic. My wife and I rented a side by side and just went. The staff was amazing. I believe the gentleman’s name is Stan. He told us excellent location with beautiful views for my wife and I. I am going to make this a regular part of our Colorado trips. Worth every penny spent.
