This is an absolutely beautiful place. It is nestled in the woods in the mountains just down the road from Red River, New Mexico. They stock their pond with Rainbow Trout. The cabins and roads are a bit rustic, but I love going here. It is also a bird watchers haven.

It’s just the right mix of rustic and comfortable, and really, really charming. Great little stocked private lake with lots of large rainbows ready to reel in. Nice secluded spots for cabins, yet just 6-7 minutes drive to Red River’s town center and easy access from the highway. Management are friendly and helpful, and the area provides lots of chances to see and encounter wildlife.
I have a long family history with this place. Since 1930’s starting with my grandparents.... I enjoy the quietness, views, lake, and streams. 13 years ago I saw a bear out the window of my cabin. I did not fish this time out of the private lake, but my brother and nephew each caught a 4-5 lb trout. We baked those and fried the smaller ones- yes the fish tasted GREAT! This time I had an app which helped me identify the many plants which grow wild. I also enjoyed learning about the many rocks and minerals found in the streams.
I have come to Tall Pines Resort for years to relax, fish, watch the wildlife. The Owner (The Green's), Darlene, Melvin and all the other staff have always been kind, and welcoming me back to their place. It is where I recharge by relaxing. I treat it reverently and love the fishing. Enjoy and take care of it for all to follow.

Beautiful location. Cabins are properly maintained during your stay. Excellent fishing in the lake. Staff are friendly and responsive. Town is a few minutes away if you need to make a run to Der Market or one of the excellent local eateries.
This was a very nice experience for us. The owners are are friendly and let us know we were welcome. The fishing was fun and about what we thought it would be. I would recommend this place to my friends.
