The pub has good atmosphere, great service & good food. The beer selection is usually really good, but they can't get certain brands right now, unfortunately- like Old Speckled Hen & Smithwick's. No fault of the pub. I normally get the ploughman's platter with a cheese & onion pie instead of the meat pie, but they were out of the former last night, so they substituted extra cheese & bread at my request. Hubby got bangers & mash, which he said was good. They're open at 50% capacity now. Bring your ID or no service- no exceptions.

Wonderful staff. Amazing authentic british food. Would recommend this to anyone looking for something special.
Wonderful service! I ordered food for takeaway and couldn't have been more pleased with how helpful and kind the server was. The food was prepared very quickly and was hot and delicious and fresh. The fish and chips were wonderful, and the curry chicken pasty was delicious. The house made crisps were very good too. I would happily go back!
Thrilled!! to know this place is still here after all these years. Used to visit this shop decades ago when I lived in Redmond. Now upon returning, it is wonderful to recapture and renew a connection to all the good people, good treats, and specialty items here. This visit we bought shortbread wedges from the bakery case. And of course these tender beauties put to shame the national brand in its plaid box. So light, scrumptious, perfect! Also got some other treats, including a plum tart and a jam tart. They've got a variety of what I would call hand pies or pasties, with meat filling, and they are also good. What really attracts me, personally, is the friendly service and the assortment of hard to find items for my baking needs. Golden syrup, custard powder, lady finger cookies, all sorts of teas, everything I don't want to be without. Top it off with gorgeous gift wares of cups, mugs, trays, tiered cookie serving pieces, and more. Glorious bit of happiness here, from old memories to the opportunity to make new.
The British Pantry is one of my favorite stores in Washington! The restaurant is a cozy room that will surely remind you of England; it sounds plain but the classic ham sandwich with split pea soup is one of my favorite lunches. The bakery offers tons of delicious fare; I load up on pies (steak and mushroom is delightful) and freeze them to keep a few weeks supply handy for easy dinners. The store offers loads of imports; it's a must-shop for Christmas! Orange Club bars, Heinz beans, Smarties and more. There's also an impressive amount of cups, mugs, teapots, etc. I love this store and no matter where I've lived in Washington, I'll make the drive to Redmond to visit. Highly recommend!
What a great place! Authentic tea and pastries at very reasonable prices. The servers running the restaurant side, Joyce and Kyle were very friendly and attentive. After growing up in Britain I am rarely pleased with high teas and confections rarely found in the states but this place has done a wonderful job! Great food, great atmosphere, and great employees! A must visit for anyone who enjoys an authentic British tea, we will certainly be back!
Fantastic bakery / pub / restaurant. Very nostalgic. Really great pies, tarts, hot cross buns at easter plus more bakery items you'd expect from UK and Australia, and a good range of imported goods. The restaurant offers great UK pub food too.
Friendly staff and well worth a visit if you’re an expat like myself, or if you’re just simply wanting to try some standard household British goods. I can only speak on the pork pies, sausage rolls and Cornish pasties but the fresh food tastes exactly like how they’re made back home. Coming here is always the highlight of my day!
