My wife and I tried ocean kayaking for the first time and had an amazing morning. Alex was a great guide and did an excellent job tailoring the Castle Rock experience to our ability and interests. We had so much fun that we decided to try out river kayaking a couple days later. Our guide Ryan was very easygoing and reassuring as we navigated a few sections with rapids. He also shared a lot of interesting information during a short break to tour the impressive Stout Grove on foot. Absolutely recommend for all skill levels!

We had an absolutely amazing experience. Our guide, Joe, walked us through everything we needed to know beforehand. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. He really helped my wife and daughter, who had never kayaked before. We did the 3-hour trip in the afternoon on the Smith River, and it was beautiful. For this trip, Redwood Rides provided all the necessary equipment that we needed, with the exception of our bathing suits. This trip was perfect for families with young kids. At the halfway point, we got out of our kayaks and walked into the Redwood Forest. It was beautiful.

Alex guided our raft trip down the Smith River this past weekend. He was extremely knowledgable, friendly and competent. I've done a couple raft trips before but never had as good of an experience as I did with Alex. Not only did he know the river well and made us feel comfortable but he also knew the local wildlife, plants and history. We would highly recommend Redwood Rides to anyone looking for a fun adventure in Northern California!
