Great experience for the first time staying in a RV. The deer were so neat to watch. Great way to spend some quiet time.

Nice park. Didn't know it cost 3 a person to get in. Other than that we had a good time.

I had a Premier site in the south campground. Not so "premier." The trees had been cut back so no shade, there was thick mud on the camping pad so my dogs got filthy. Neighbors way too close and with no vegetation between it felt very cramped. The worse part was there were no one way signs and so made it difficult to find your space. Mine was supposed to be a drive through but ended up backing in because both access roads were blocked with other people's trucks. The north campsite was beautiful with signage, so if you are planning a trip get a campsite in this area and stay away from the south lot. The park itself was amazing with a beach and swimming in Lake Pontchartrain. It's close to the causeway to New Orleans too.

Quick registration. Bring mud boots for the rain. Many sites have been upgraded with concrete slabs and sewage connections, but some full service sites don't have sewer connections.

This could be a great campground. The location and history is amazing. It just needs some upgrading. It is in rough shape from roads to amenities.
