Fantastic training facility for eventing riders. My daughter and her horse train there at least 3 or 4 times a year when they need to work on a specific obstacle or jump that their local barn does not have. Ample parking and a friendly staff. The competitions are always well run.

Kelly's Ford was sold to a real estate investor in 2017 and the buyer put his inept son, Omar, in charge. Omar ran the equestrian center into the ground in less than a year. In November, trainer Bill Payne of Vintage Valley Sporthorses took over management. Here is the scoop: Bill did some good things: he bush-hogged the cross country fields; pulled the jumps out of the tree lines; put new footing in the indoor arena; leveled the sand arena; and attended to basic maintenance. His employees are nice. He is a secretive guy, however, and does not want anyone to know his business or policies. Here they are: he leaves the stall-boards outside except in inclement weather or extreme cold. I actually agree with this policy, but believe boarders should be told. He feeds grain once a day consistently, although he implies twice a day is possible. Many days there has only been an employee working in the morning and not in the evening. There are no blanket changes for the same reason. I had the luxury of being at the stable daily, so I could work around these policies and care for my own horse. The thing I could not accept was the hay policy. Bill is not generous. Hay is fed in the morning between 10 and 11 and that is it. My horse received half a bale, which he ate in a few hours and then had nothing for 18 hours or so. Other horses did not receive that much. Most of the horses are on dry lots. When the farm is out of hay, which has happened several times in two months, the horses simply are not fed. Bill will bring a few bales in his pick-up late the next day. I could not stand the stress of this and left, forfeiting my final month's board. I had been there for four and a half years. I urge anyone who wants to board here to pay attention to the hay levels and to show up during the day to see for yourself. Keep your horse safe.

Kelly's Ford trainer: Jennifer Cook is the best of the best, she wont hold you back and she pushes you to your best potential ! She is someone you can trust personally, and someone you can trust with your horse. Jen is a great horse trainer and has plenty of experience. **She is my trainer and I definitely recommend her and the farm**
