A year ago I was looking at building a new pressure washing trailer for my company. After looking and comparing trailers I went with a Rice Trailer. From ordering to picking up everything went as planned. After building everything out and putting it all together I couldn’t be prouder of my decision to go with Rice Trailers. I always get compliments on my trailer from my customers about how good looking and professional it looks. After a year it still looks great!!!!
Do yourself a giant favour and do not get involved in any way with this company Read the reviews they are not lying.
Bought a 16' Stealth and gate bent while trying to take JD 1025 sub compact tractor off of trailer. Brake away controller not working and powder coat is rusting around fenders after 3 months of ownership. I have been told to work through dealer but they are slow to respond. Rice supplied a can of black spray paint to fix the rusted areas. This is a powder coated trailer and now I'm spraying it with paint from a can. Rice did supply a new gate and some hardware. It requires grinding and welding to be done to attach. I can't get any response from the dealer after a few weeks. Not impressed at all. Should have went with my gut feel and got the Sure-Trac Trailer.
Picked up a new Rice 18' 10k gvwr trailer today and less than impressed so far. 15mins into the drive home I realized the trailer brakes werent working, figured it was maybe a fuse or something simple on the truck side since a brand new trailer shouldnt have any issues. Got home and connected to another truck and still didnt work. Then thought maybe just a ground since I live in Maine and the elements can be harsh on exposed metal. After looking under the trailer I found the power and ground wires running from one side of the trailer to other were pinched between the c clamp and axle during assembly and when tightened it cut the wire in half. I understand mistakes like this can happen but this just proves the quality control is lacking. I also had two other issues with the trailer, which I believe fall on the dealer. When picking the trailer up, I noticed the rear light wasnt inserted into the opening. Someone had cut the pigtail off and never reconnected the wires. They had someone come out and re-splice the connection but still not thrilled to have crimp connector splices on a brand new trailer harness. I also noticed when I got home two of the wheels were each missing a lug nut. Just poor quality overall. Whether it falls on the dealer or the manufacturer, the dealer should never have let someone drive off the lot with a trailer with this many issues.
Puchased a trailer new from an authorized dealer several months ago. Was told to contact Rice direct to purchase extras. After multiple attempts to contact with no response - 1 star. Added a 2nd star because I actually like the trailer. Update: Several months after this original review I still cannot get the manufacturer to return my correspondence. Back to 1 star.
Trailer bought at southern Indiana dealership. Less than 1 year old and already major failure of powder coating. Surface is crazing and it seems that it was not properly prepped prior to painting. Was assured that this was a quality company who backed up their products and have found that this can't be further from the truth. After 2 months of trying to figure out what if anything they would do I have concluded after multiple dodged calls and run arounds that they simply Do Not Care about the satisfaction of their customers. Do not walk from consideration of buying one if these trailers . RUN
Just bought a rice trailer i can tell im going to have rust issues almost instantly but that's going to happen with about any trailer i buy for a 1500 budget... i will be going through the trailer this spring to fix all my issues and rust proof it.. it's a great looking trailer tho! 4-16-19 Updated review, having less the 50 miles it's rusting horribly on the outside of the wheel wells. also had to replace the toung it would not latch securely warranty fixed that after 7 days..... called the sales place about the rust and getting it warranted and rice i guess does not warranty that... so that's the last rice trailer il buy, i haven't even used it for any towing i made 3 trips to the dealer and back for warranty issues and less then 50 miles, I'm not real happy with the outcome so far... i understand i bought a budget trailer but i think its unacceptable to be rusting already...
