Very passionate and friendly staff who go out of their way to bring in new pets daily, enrich the lives of the pets that are already there and find great homes/guardians for homeless animals. Clean rooms and kennels, cozy bedding and a calm atmosphere.

My fiance and I adopted Gummy Bear (now our little Mochi) through this location, I just filled a form and answered some questions on the website and a couple of weeks later we got a call, went through the cats that were the best match over the phone with lovely Bri (you can see all the pics and info online while you are on the phone) and when we heard about Gummy Bear we needed to meet him! We found the best match that could possibly be! The staff is really helpful, Bri answered all my questions, provided us with some food and a folder with all kinds of information.
I am a shelter worker at a different facility who happened to be interested in adopting a particular cat at the Richmond SPCA. Having been in the field over 10 years now, I've seen the best and worst of animal sheltering. Today I experienced excellent customer service and compassion from the staff. The adoption process from beginning to end was informative and smooth. I began by filling out an adoption survey detailing what I was looking for in a companion and then setting up an appointment to meet the cat I had my eye on. Due to the pandemic, the shelter limits the amount of non-employees in the building and uses proper PPE and social distancing to maximize safety. Rebecca and Lizzy were particularly wonderful and addressed all of the questions I had about my new companion. \Scarlett\ has been renamed \Miso\ (like the soup!) and is already settling into her new (and final) home! Thank you for everything!
I adopted my little (Loblolly) now Milo from here and I am happy to say the staff was amazing!!! They helped me find the perfect match for us, our Milo is such a great Kitty and now 2 years later he's living his best Life in Italy with our other two cats Nimshi & Coco . Thank you!
This animal hospital is the best!!!! Love it. During this pandemic they are still the best and you can feel the love they give you and your pets. Ibe been taking my dog here for 6 years now. Richmond SPCA is AWESOME!!!!
