Tried to go to the Veil and on a Wednesday we were not able to get a table to sit at. We then tried to get a drink there but waited 20 minutes (not an exaggeration) and still were not able to order, so we bailed and went to Strangeways. What a difference! I had never been there before and I was so grateful for them. The people were wonderful, the beer was awesome, they were so friendly to my pup and were fast and fun to talk to. I will absolutely be there often

The pretty basic beer house. They do have outside seating and are dog friendly but it's a little bit Bare Bones. Inside has adequate seating, reduced seating with the COVID situation. There is absolutely no food here but there is a barbecue place on the back side of the building if you get hungry. I found the beer to be quite good. I was able to find a couple beers that were very pleasant. The best part about the place was the staff was pretty good about service. They were friendly and welcoming and acted like they cared.

We came in with a party of 6 about 8:20pm (hours posted were open until 10pm). Both people working were not very friendly initially, no problem. However, after pouring our first beer, the employees began to turn off lights and mop the floors while we drank our beers. They even went as far as to turn off the neon “open” sign in the front window while we were still drinking our beer. Shortly after that, they asked us about last call at about 8:45 / 9:00pm, so we finished our beer and went elsewhere. Love the beer here and usually a good atmosphere, but bad service tonight.

A little pricy but worth it! Loved the Coronado ipa and partner loved their cider! Staff was extremely helpful.

Great selection of sour and funky beers! Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are pretty fair and you can get flights of as many different beers that you want at a time. The place is a little bare, and could use some attention.

This place seriously rocks. Great beer, nice choice of styles on tap. Beer flights are definitely the way to go if you can’t choose and want to try it all. Awesome vibe with the decor, beer labels, games, indoor & outdoor seating. So much fun - everyone had such a great time. Thanks for adding this gem to Richmond’s craft beer landscape! We’ll be visiting again soon!

Staff was very helpful in suggesting brews and they were extremely polite. Great service all around and great tasting beer.

Semi-slow service. But they have high quality beer. The triple IPA is very tasty. We were here on a Friday night so they had some live music. Had a very hipster vibe, both the music and the venue. But chill place and not a bad spot to drink. Walking distance to a lot of other places as well.
