Had very happy experience with Karin's team at Calico in Ridgewood. Maintaining safe customer service during this epedemic is very difficult and I see, per reviews, that customers were having difficulty with the store appointment only rules. I was glad they maintained those rules, as I felt safe and comfortable in their store. My reupholstering was beautiful.. and pillows exquisite.. So much better than even anticipated.!! Byran (who did the fabric reupholstering) is an artist.. He took such pride in his work and it showed!! I don't often write reviews, but I do so here without hesitation!!

Just can't say enough about store manager Karin who has helped me on numerous occasions. As the style editor of New Jersey Monthly magazine, I have needed fabric for photo shoots and Karin always has a superb eye. She is easy (and fun) to work with and I can always count on her to help me get the job done on time. Wholeheartedly recommend Calico Ridgewood.
First: I've used Calico Corners for several large projects and have always been satisified. The people that work in the Ridgewood store are excellent, very professional. For my most recent project, in the summer they spent hours measuring my furniture set and the accompanying pillows. However, they were pushing me towards reupholstering the existing cushions insisting they were in good condition (down filling). I didn't share this view given they were 30 years old, and they needed to be less chunky, to me why go half way? Also, their fabric selections fell short for me (if you want modern or very traditional then you will find something, if you are more eclectic no, and some of the pricing was high). Not completely satisfied, I sought out and met with several private owned shops and for 1,500 more getting better velvet fabric, in-home consultation (safely per Covid guidelines) AND they are making ALL NEW custom cushions in addition to the work - the shop is Oakland, NJ. My advice: Use them, but shop around as well and then sign on the dotted line.
Arrived at the store and doors were locked. A very rude woman came to the door almost on a chastising fashion about me not having an appointment. I was going to leave but she said o could come on and look. She asked me a couple questions and pointed me on the direction of my color!!!! Another salesperson who was far more professional eventually came over bit I’m gonna spend my money elsewhere —-there are tons of option. Yes
I had the worst experience at this business then I have had in many years. I arrive d just before it's opening as I had consulted their website for the time of opening. When I arrived there was a sign on the door stating appointment needed in order to enter the business. I called on the phone and was greeted quite rudely by a woman who then had someone come out to my car to see me. She was very apologetic and accommodating and made me understand I needed to make an appointment. When I left the business I called to make an appointment but everyone was busy so they took my number and no one bothered to respond and call me back. I would never recommend this business nor will I ever do business with them again I had done business with them years before but that will never happen again.
