Completed this hike on July 26th in over 100 degree heat. I don't recommend doing this in the heat. This is a very strenuous hike going down the side of a cliff with lots of rock scrambling and being poked by spiny acorn bushes and coming across very hot rocks. Definitely bring lots of water, snacks, sunscreen, and hiking boots if you're completing this in the summer. Also a hat helps a ton! There are stacked rock markers to help find your way down and back up to the top of the trailhead.
