My fiance and I were able to go down to Lanesboro for my birthday on a very short notice to see what river activities we could participate in. Ken was very accommodating, friendly, and efficient in getting us down to the ending point where we left our vehicle and then getting us back up to stream with his vehicle to where we would launch from. The equipment we used was of good quality and worked perfectly for our time out on the water. The river in the section we were in was very calm with a few rapids where we could have some fun and learn the maneuvering techniques of canoeing. Ken was very instructive with our questions and offered the best way to navigate the river to the end point. The pricing was adequate at bout 45 for us two with a canoe for a two hour stretch of river. The sun and cool water made for a beautiful day along with all the campsites and other people on the river doing their activities. They were very friendly to interact with and it made for a very fulfilling day. We definitely recommend Ken and River Rats for all your Root River activities. You will not regret it!

Ken was super nice, on time and accomodating. One of our kayaks was leaky but Ken made it right. Good value and lots of fun!

Ken was easy to work with. We arrived early but that was no problem. He got us going right away. We chose the 4 hour kayak trip but for a leisurely float you should figure on at least 5 hours. That said, I’m really glad we chose the 4 hour because the beginning was the best part! Beautiful bluffs, quiet, and we saw lots of bald eagles.
