Our child participated this summer in a strings camp, and months later, she is still singing and playing the music she learned, asking us to sing it with her (including making harmonies), learning other new songs by ear, and talking fondly about the experience she had. It was really a wonderful week with the good teachers and kids of Cultural Arts Strings, and we hope our kids will participate in future programs.

Cultural Arts Strings is an inspiring and fun-filled program for aspiring or budding young musicians who would like an opportunity to either learn a string instrument or play in an ensemble. My son is home-schooled and CAS provided a wonderful supportive introduction to playing with others, and gave him a big boost of confidence.

Our daughter began performing with the Cultural Art Strings (CAS) of the Riverfolk Music organization when she was 7 years old. This year, as a 15 year old, she was accepted into the International Youth Symphony Orchestra at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and toured France and Germany. She would have never had this opportunity without the support of CAS and Riverfolk. Such organizations, with so many talented and committed people, are rare and especially so in small communities like Manchester. She has been lucky to have this group in our community and has reaped the rewards 10x over. It is very unlikely our daughter will make music her career. But the skills she has learned (e.g. public presentation) are worth more than just the musical education. The opportunities within Riverfolk are for everyone, not just those who will pursue a career in performing arts. We enthusiastically endorse Riverfolk.

I highly recommend both private lessons and the summer camp thru CAS! Teachers are well versed in advancing all levels of musician thru playful, creative and patient interactions. My child has learned so much more than just playing the cello. Time management, confidence performing in front of a crowd are just a few positives from CAS. Don't hesitate, invest in this program now!
