I was in the area for a training. I needed to find dinner and looked up options around me. Ike's Kitchen came up and I decided to try it. The girl at the counter was one of the best hostess/waitress that I've ever dealt with. She gave me suggestions, answered my questions and was a genuine people person. And then the food came...it was so good. Rich, deep flavors. Everything tasted great on its own, but together they created magic in my mouth! I wish I had more days in town so I could try everything in the menu. Definitely will stop by Ike's whenever possible!!!
Only place in Roanoke I go for my Ramen!! Meals are well thought out, but stay pretty traditional and are very filling. I always leave satisfied and ready for a nap! Only down side is since the pandemic, you cannot eat inside due to having to be social distanced. Ike's has in turn, packaged everything up for take out so creating your meal (putting it together) is an experience itself!
Authentic Japanese restaurant in town. It’s rare to find such little cozy place in Roanoke. Their takoyaki is a must try, reminds me of my childhood.
Never disappoints! I found out about this great lil place thanks to my sister and I’ve been hooked ever since. Everything here is delicious! This week I went back, and everything was on point as always. I always get an order of the Takoyaki (octopus balls) they are to die for! Never had anything like it before and can’t get enough! Another great starter is the Karaage, they are little awesome Japanese marinated chicken nuggets, thanks to these babies I can’t eat chicken nuggets from anywhere else! Not McDs nor Wendy’s. They don’t compare to Ike’s Karaage and they go great with the house made chili sauce! Always ask for the chili sauce! I also got a order of Unadon (eel) rice bowl and the unagi sauce was amazing. I have not had eel with unagi sauce this good since I moved from Richmond. They really do a great job with everything here. The Ramen is amazing as well! I could spend all day telling everyone what I have eaten here, but I urge people to come and try this great little gem out, and I promise you will fall in love! Fast, and friendly service. Each time the staff has been great. This place is super clean inside, can’t wait until I can finally dine in!
Pretty much the only really authentic Japanese food in the Roanoke metropolitan area (And, I say that if somebody who lived in Japan for a year!). Drop in and get some katsudon. It was my favorite comfort food in Okinawa. You won't regret it!
One of my preferred locations for delicious Japanese food. I really loved this place. Service is typically good. The prices are fair for the quality of food. Mood here is similar to Fresno's scene.
Absolutely fantastic!!! The food is perfect (some of the best ramen I’ve had). A great variety of Japanese favorites. The place has cool decor, and the staff is super friendly. We are from out of town to visit family and we will definitely be coming back every time.
