Enjoyed this hike. Many trails and difficulty levels from which to choose. Depending on which trail you take, you could find yourself on a paved surface or very steep rocky incline so prepare appropriately.

Great place for bird and squirrel watching! The trail goes over a couple roads and as such, road noises resound through a big portion of the walk. Not a quiet experience; but definitely worth it if you want a more challenging way to get to the Mill Mountain Star.

This is such a great trail. It is a moderate intensity. I did this in the morning and it was so delightful. I got some good exercise and got to enjoy the nature. Great trail to bring your family to and your dog. At the end of the trail is the star and a zoo which is fun to go see at the top. It is a must do in Roanoke so make it happen! Make sure to bring some good hiking shoes because some of it is muddy.

There's a bike work station, but perhaps a bike rack for people who might bike to the TH but not bike up further. Just an idea, I had to lock my bike to the info board. Great hike though. Take the Woodthrush path right after the gate on the right, instead of the bland access road.
