This is a great museum. It has an incredibly detailed toy city(Roanoke) with toy trains running around. It has quite a few trains and different train cars that can teach people. The outside has many other vehicles that you can go walk around and see. It has educational videos placed around the museum that are fun to watch and learn. It has great car, flight, bus, and boat sections. They are very COVID friendly activity also. I bought a membership and visit with my 3 yo once every other week.

Lots of old cars which is really cool and you can walk the rail yard. I was expecting to see some planes as well, but they only have a couple of them. I like how they highlight the contributions of black people and women on transportation industry.

There were 2 reviews that stood out to me about this museum: “heavy emphasis on trains” and “the man in the gift shop wasn’t wearing a mask”. Both were spot on. It’s healthy and good to wear a mask but that man was awesome and was of great character. I cherished my experience.

An amazing Museum. It was very quiet when we went and we got to take our time and go through looking over everything. It was a really good experience and I got some souvenirs to help me remember it!
