Although most of the members of this Temple are Vietnamese, and are not fluent in English, they are none - the - less, friendly and welcoming to newcomers. The Monk speaks English pretty well, is very cheerful, and always has a good story to tell. He is a very conscientious and hard working Monk, with a lot of energy and contagious optimism. The membership is growing, due to his dedication and skill. There is a meditation on Friday evenings at 6 pm for English speaking people, and everyone is welcome. After the thirty minute meditation, we have tea, and talk for a while. It is most enjoyable and interesting to listen to the Monk tell about his life. He is very easy to talk to, and he is glad to instruct, and answer any questions you may have. No one is going to pressure you to convert, or push any beliefs on you. It is a very relaxed, cordial atmosphere, where everyone is treated with respect. Everyone at the Temple is very patient and they understand that Buddhism is very different than anything we are used to here, and they are glad to help, if you have questions, and want to learn more about it. It is now, in the words of the monk, \My home.\ and that feels very good. Like any religion, it is not the answer to all my problems, but it is a very healthy way to ease stress, be happy in the world we live in, and meet nice people.
