Dr, Merlo is not only exceptional at his craft he had an and calm manner in how he treats you. He explains even complex procedures well and easy for you to understand. His staff is also extremely competent and professional. This is a first rate practice.

So far so good! I started my implant procedure in May, during Covid. The scheduling was easy and there were no other patients in the office. They followed good protocol, and I felt safe. The extraction and bone graft followed a week after the consult. It was a smooth procedure, and not painful after the novocain shots. I then returned a week later for a follow up. Then I didn't see him again till Sept, when he checked the results of the bone graft. It is now Nov and last week he put in the implant and this week he followed up. He will do a torque test to see how it all took in Feb. Then I will go to my dentist to get an impression and have the tooth made. I especially liked how the price at the end is the price he quoted. He and his staff were very professional as well as nice. I would recommend them!

I had a bad experience with Dr. Merlo. I had a little bump in my cheek and came to get it removed. The procedure didn't seem to be hard, so I wasn't really worried about it. However, during the surgery Dr. Merlo cut a branch of FACIAL artery and I was heavily bleeding in his office for about an hour or two. I almost passed out during the surgery and nurse put me on IV. Eventually the bleeding got under some control and I was sent home. I stayed on a medical leave for 4 days because I was barely able to move as a result of blood loss. My cheek was huge. I couldn't look at myself in a mirror because I was absolutely ugly. In addition to that I started having a problem with facial nerve. For about a year after the surgery I've been visiting many other doctors because I had pain in my cheek, weird sensations, numbness and Dr. Merlo couldn't get me a clear answer of what exactly happened and how to get it back to normal. Because of all that stress I ended up seeing psychiatrist and psychologist. I was diagnosed with PTSD and ended up taking antidepressants plus anxiety medications. Just feel like sharing my story.
