Recently, SavATree provided tree pruning services for two large trees and a row of mature Arborvitae on my property. I had needlessly delayed arranging for this necessary tree maintenance for years because I was wary of the hassle and aggravation that I was sure would ensue. My fears were not well-founded and I was placed at ease as soon as Mark Selivan, the SavATree Licensed Arborist who covers the Bethesda area, arrived at my home. Mark’s relaxed and knowledgeable demeanor was immediately evident, and I knew that my trees were in good hands. After I received the detailed description of the work to be performed and a reasonable cost quotation, I signed up for their services. When the work crew reached my house on the scheduled date and time, Mark was on site to start them off personally with specific directions to complement their work order. The crew arrived with two new-looking trucks: one bucket truck, and a chip collection truck trailing a powerful wood chipper. The bucket truck provided a platform for the worker tending to the tree in my front yard, however, the tree in my backyard required a climber to ascend into the tree to perform his work. The work crew performed very diligently and expertly, showing that they took pride in their work and were an experienced team. The care with which they deployed and later carefully stowed their climbing tackle indicated that they were true professionals. The end result was a well-executed tree pruning process, with my property cleared of all debris from branch trimming and wood chipping. I’m looking forward to my trees’ growing quickly, so I can have the SavATree team visit my home again.

I have only the highest praise for SavATree. Their work is very high quality and they do what they say they'll do and when they say they'll do it. The price may be a bit high -- I don't really have a basis of comparison -- but it's worth every penny, not only because of how good they are at their job but also because I know I can trust them. Sara (whom I've consulted and spoken with many times over the years) absolutely knows her stuff. She's kept us from making mistakes and spending money we didn't have to. That counts for a lot in my book. I absolutely recommend them.
Mark Selivan has been my arborist for years, and I've bragged about him to friends and family many times. That's because of the excellent advice and service I've received from him. He knew everything about my trees. Since I know zilch, I appreciated this. I was so impressed by his knowledge. He never pressured me, and we had a good relationship of trust. I was actually touched by how he cared about my trees, especially my wonderful azalea display in the spring. I alway felt I was in good hands and will miss working with him. Mark, I wish you and your family all the best in your new home.
Mark Selivan provided services for our trees. His crew just completed the work and it looks fabulous. Two days of work and zero headaches! His quote was the most expensive , but we have gone with a less expensive company before and we were not able to achieve the same quality result. His crew was efficient, courteous and thoughtful, they offered to do an additional small pruning to help with one tree that was not on the list. They left the place clean and took away additional wood that we needed to dispose of.
SavATree has taken care of our trees since we moved to our home in 2011 -- handling a massive removal mere months before the derecho moved in. Most recently, they removed two very large trees sited very close to the home, and did so with outstanding professionalism and grace under unexpectedly challenging circumstances. They have also ensured that other trees have been well maintained and were proactive about identifying and then addressing any problems. Mark Selivan has been a true partner in our tree care, who truly wanted the best for our property and us, and always conducted himself with the utmost professionalism and expertise. And we know how much he loves trees! We will miss him terribly, but know that we'll be in good hands going forward.
