I love this rink! I skated here for 10 years. So sad it closed.... thanks for the memories!!

Hands down the best recreational skating rink in the city. Yes, Chelsea piers sometimes has better ice, but it's all indoors and not very pretty, and general skating hours are limited. Lakeside is affordable, fairly close to the subway, has lots of open skating hours, great ice, a double indoor-outdoor skating rink, clean bathrooms, a nice little cafe, and most importantly: a reasonable number of skaters on the ice.

Good prices for classes and rent for this little spot. Stuff is friendly. Great place for kids to play and make new friends. You’ll get to know lots of people very quick. Helped me and my kids a lot when I we were new in town

I wouldn't give it a one. My little one wanted to use a seal as a guide. She let it go left it on the side and another kid took it. Went to get it back was not used for more than 5 to 10 minutes. Returned it back asked if we can have a refund she didn't really use it some other kid used it. The replied badluck no refund and they only rent it for 40 minutes which they don't worn you about. Rude

Lots of little kids but relatively cheap! It gets pretty crowded over the weekend but they have good music

My son and his friend come here to skate, it's a great deal. For 12 they can skate until they fall over (that's not in the contract, I just added that because I'm impish that way). So they skate and we sit on a bench, drink Juniper Lattes and chat. The staff there is great, knowledgeable, helpful. One guy was a little frosty, but he warmed up! :) Make sure you bring warm clothes, hats and mittens because it is COLD and there were lots of kids there not warmly dressed---a long sleeved t shirt isn't going to cut it. (Of course, there's a kid's GAP next door if you need to pick up anything extra)
