I totally love this place. It's like taking a trip back in time. Absolutely beautiful.

We visited the museum as a starting point for a tour of the House of Dreams. We had zero expectations and no knowledge of the museum or the Martha Berry story. After walking through the museum, we left impressed both by the Martha Berry story and the excellent historical story-telling found in the museum. We were especially intrigued by the link to Henry Ford and the Ford Foundation, and the other relationships developed by Martha Berry that made her educational projects possible. Beyond the museum, the nearby walking trails and the campus are phenomenal. Don't miss the Log Cabin or the gift shop, located outside the main building.

I'll be honest, my husband and I only came here because I wanted to see the house from Sweet Home Alabama. We got there just after the last tour of the day had been taken down to get the tour of the house, but a kind young guy offered to take us down anyway. We caught up with the tour that had only just begun seeing the house. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgable about the house and the life of Martha Berry and made the tour very interesting. She even answered almost all of the questions one of the other guests had about the structure of the building and materials used (which was a LOT). Everything was gorgeous and well kept and everyone working there was so kind.

This was a very interesting and educational place to visit. The students that are your tour guides or information guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. There is a lot of history to be found here. The buildings and the grounds are well kept and clean. It is a great place to bring school aged children to learn more about the past. Younger children must be well supervised because of the chance of destruction to antiques or important artifacts. There is the opportunity to get some fresh air walking the grounds or sitting in the gazebos. No food or beverages should be permitted in the buildings. And there isn't a place to order food so eat before or after your visit.
