Could not have asked for a better experience. Losing a loved one is not easy, but they made the last few days of my dads life so easy. We only needed their services for a short while, but I find so much peace in the comfort they were able to provide my dad during those last couple of days. The nurse Martha is an absolute angel. She was so sweet, calm, and took care of us every step of the way. Anytime we had questions they were quick to answer the phone and have someone get in contact with us. When we needed extra help, Martha was at our house within 30 minutes. Penny, the aide was also fantastic. So caring and gentle. They were quick to get any needed equipment delivered and also quick getting things picked up afterwards. You won’t regret choosing Compassus to take care of your loved one.

If I can choose negative stars I would. Over promise and I can’t say under deliver because they quite literally did not deliver!
I would not recommend this company for your loved one’s last days. My best friend is currently on Hospice for end stage breast cancer that has spread to her bones and liver. This company approached me in the hospital and I went with them because it was convenient, and did not research other companies. Some of their employees have been very kind. But our primary nurse is lacking compassion and empathy. She extends no warmth and kindness, appears not to want to have physical contact, and has not followed through with getting an appropriate bed for my friend who has terrible pain due to multiple bone fractures. This nurse was aware for 3 days that we would be transitioning from the hospital to a nursing facility respite bed, but failed to order adequate DME. She promised to have an appropriate bed delivered the day we moved (Friday, 2/21) and we’re still waiting (it’s 2/24 and apparently the bed is on “back order”). I believe most hospice employees are wonderful people who dedicate their time to help us get through loss. I’m stunned this company would hire someone with so little compassion and urgency to provide comfort for someone in their last days. I would definitely recommend choosing another company.
Hospice Compassus is the most compassionate hospice company in the Greater Austin area. I am the owner of Amada Senior Care and we send all of our patients/clients to Compassus. Katie and Cassie do an amazing job with our patients/clients. Their knowledge and bedside manner with our families is very helpful in these delicate situations. They spend a lot time walking our families through the entire process while at the same time making everybody comfortable. Dealing with end of life issues is a very difficult time for all families.
